American Red Cross honors Gateway employees

At Gateway Medical Center’s July Blood Drive, representatives from the American Red Cross presented the hospital with a Gold Award for reaching 100 percent of its blood donation goal for its four drives in 2013.

In addition, 33 Gateway employees received pins for giving two to four units each last year.

Because each unit of blood can benefit up to three people, these givers alone helped more than 250 in need.
