Clarksville, TN, Nov. 29, 2022 – Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville is pleased to announce that Surgical Services-PACU Team Lead Rachel Masek, R.N., has been selected to receive its Nursing Excellence Award. This peer-nominated award, given in recognition of the critical role nurses play in treating our patients, was open to qualifying RNs and LPNs working in a direct patient care position who consistently demonstrate characteristics synonymous with nursing excellence. Rachel was chosen for her outstanding contributions in the areas of post-surgical care and peer leadership. Rachel is an example of the constant pursuit of professional excellence and development, as evidenced by her own growth from staff nurse to team lead within the surgical services department since coming to Tennova in July of 2021.
“Keeping her team motivated is a top priority for Rachel. As a staff nurse, she leads by example with her attitude and willingness to help her coworkers for the sake of quality patient care. She routinely shares her knowledge and skills to help better the team” said Michelle Dickerson, chief nursing officer of Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville. “All of Rachel’s actions lead back to ensuring safe, reliable care for our patients. She carries herself with the grace of a nurse beyond her years.”
Alex Villa, chief executive officer, shares “Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville is fortunate to have many outstanding nurses like Rachel among its ranks. Nurses who deliver exemplary care, compassion and service, who understand the importance of teamwork and mentoring others, who can lead in times of crises, and who are true champions of promoting healthcare in our community.”
In addition to receiving the Nursing Excellence Award itself, Rachel received a cash prize and a copy of “Shining the Light on All the Right” by Mark and Bonnie Barnes, co-founders of The DAISY Foundation, an international movement created to recognize and express gratitude for extraordinary nursing.
