Tennova Healthcare – Clarksville today announced it has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement Certification. Tennova underwent a rigorous onsite review in April. Joint Commission experts evaluated compliance with national disease-specific care standards as well as with total hip and total knee replacement specific requirements. Clinical practice guidelines and performance measures also were assessed.
"Tennova has thoroughly demonstrated a high level of care for patients with Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement,” said Patrick Phelan, executive director, Hospital Business Development, The Joint Commission. “We commend Tennova for becoming a leader in total hip and knee replacement care, potentially providing a higher standard of service for patients in its community.”
“We are pleased to receive certification from The Joint Commission, the premier health care quality improvement and accrediting body in the nation,” added W. Cooper Beazley, M.D., Physician Champion for the Joint Replacement Center at Tennova Healthcare – Clarksville. “We look forward to improving patient safety and quality of care for the increasing number of patients undergoing total hip or total knee replacement surgery.”
