Tennova Volunteer John Evans Awarded Governor’s Volunteer Stars Award

CLARKSVILLE, TN (February 18, 2025) – Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville volunteer John Evans was awarded the Governor's Volunteer Stars Award for Montgomery County by Volunteer Tennessee. Volunteer Tennessee is the Governor’s commission that addresses educational, public safety, environmental, and other human needs in Tennessee by encouraging volunteerism and community service.
John has served as a volunteer and Tennova Volunteer Auxiliary officer for 15 years at Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville. He has given over 7,000 hours of volunteer service to date. Over the years he has helped recruit many volunteers. Nominated by Tennova Volunteer Coordinator Shelby Banks, she shared “When volunteer shifts need to be covered, John is the first one willing to help. John is always willing to go the extra mile and help wherever needed. John is a leader among the volunteers. He is passionate about his role, organized and trustworthy. John is respected, trusted and known to always be fair by staff and his fellow volunteers.”
As the Auxiliary treasurer, John plays a significant role in overseeing the many grants and scholarships that are given to the hospital and community from the Auxiliary. He values the important role the Auxiliary plays in the success of the hospital and advocates for its relevancy.
Mr. Evans said “I am grateful for the opportunity to represent the volunteers at Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville.” Tennova is thankful to John for his long-standing commitment to Tennova’s patients, visitors, and staff, and the Montgomery County community as a whole.
